Good morning, friends! Miles and I had the pleasure of working with my friend Amanda from The Creative Company for a mommy + me shoot. I wanted to capture these special moments ever since Miles turned 18 months old on July 4th (like, how is he 18 months already, my heart can’t even handle it.) I am so grateful that Amanda was able to make time for us. She came to our home to document this special time in our lives. In true toddler fashion, Miles was a bit grumpy during the lifestyle shoot, yet she was still able to capture some gems.
If you are local to the Upper Peninsula/ Northeast Wisconsin area, I encourage you to check out Amanda’s services. She inspires me because she is totally killing it with her company + she’s a kindergarten teacher! We love an empowered woman kicking ass and taking names! Also, can we talk about her editing style? I’m literally obsessed. Lastly, if you know Amanda, you will know that she is the sweetest human being. I felt safe, relaxed, and not judged during our session. Check her out on Instagram at @thecreativecompanybyamanda!
Reflections & notes on the developmental time of 18 mo:
– Miles is talking so much! It’s almost like every day he is saying a new word. Right now, he is saying Mommy, Dada, No! (lol), puppy, nonnie, papa (his grandparents), auntie, sissy, please (peeeease and he whispers it, it’s the damn cutest thing), thank-you, bubba (for milk), Kiwi (his stuffed koala lovey)… and my personal fave…. love you. (Sounds like wuv-oooo.) 🙂
– Every day, I swear he looks bigger. He is losing his baby fat and thinning out. I was glad Amanda was able to capture his chubby lil cheeks because they get smaller each day. He’s very tall for his age; 97th percentile for height and 60th for weight.
– He actually just got his first big boy haircut. He looks so different from these photos now, even though these photos were only a few weeks ago! I loved that we kept the longer hair for these photos because it’s almost a sentiment to the last time he looks like a “baby” instead of a “big boy.” (Jason and I joke that right now, with his haircut, he looks like he’s 3 instead of 18 mo).
– He is a SPITTING image of his daddy. (:
