Hey hi, friends! This post is longggg overdue. In March of 2024, my husband J and I went on a {super delayed} honeymoon to Aruba, about 1.5 years after our wedding date. Whose idea was it to be pregnant AF during your wedding?! er, that’s a blog post for another day…
Aruba was amazing, and it was honestly the trip of a lifetime. It had been a long time since I traveled, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about doing so. I’m a major penny-pincher and it gave me great anxiety knowing that nice lil chunk of change could still be chilling in our savings. Nonetheless, my husband and I were both due for a vacation, so we decided to go big or go home. Fun fact: for my *first* honeymoon (yes, I am a divorced woman, *GASP*), I broke my ankle at our resort. Needless to say, leaving for Aruba, I was feeling a little superstitious.
And guys, I’m not superstitious, but I am a little….. stitious.**
It was honestly the most beautiful place I have ever been. Everything about our honeymoon was absolutely perfect and well worth the investment. Sometimes, you just need to splurge on yourself. As cheesy as it sounds, life is way too short to *never* invest in yourself. Plus, you can’t go wrong with splurging on experiences. Those you will take with you to the grave; other purchases cannot!
We stayed at the Barcelo All Inclusive. I would give it 10/10. The food was amazing, the amenities were fantastic, and the staff was awesome. I just loved the vibe of Aruba in general. It felt very safe, luxurious, and welcoming. I wish we could have spent more time venturing off the resort and experiencing the local cuisine and nightlife. I could have stayed there another week!
We did the typical beach honeymoon stuff, which consisted of lounging at the beach, sitting at the pool bar, and basically drinking our meals. I was grateful to my husband for being such a good sport because he is the type of vacationer who wants to be doing active things, like…. hiking. (ugh, how is it a vacation then?!! I digress). Meanwhile, it doesn’t take a lot to please this girl. Give me some sun, a good book, a fruity drink with an umbrella … and I’m in my happy place.
I took so many photos in Aruba and am excited to share them within this post. (I know there are sooo many, so if you made it to the bottom of this post, you win!) Please let me know if you have any questions about Aruba and I’d be happy to answer them! (although no promises on remembering the little details bc let’s be real, I was drinking mojitos from sun up til sun down soooo.. )
Xo, Chelsea
