What is coaching? How is it different from counseling?
Great question. Think of coaching as having a support specialist and mentor who holds you accountable. Coaching is solution-focused, goal-driven, and future-oriented. It can also be more accessible than mental health services, as many therapists are booked weeks or months in advance, and dealing with insurance can be challenging. Coaching offers an alternative, lower-cost solution for clients who are seeking support but not in critical need of deeper mental health care.
Important note: Coaching is NOT for individuals who are mentally ill, extremely depressed, or suicidal. If, at any point, I believe you need more support than I can provide, I will refer you to other services.
Why should I choose you as my coach? What experience do you have?
Along with my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling, I have nearly a decade of experience as a high school counselor, supporting students, families, colleagues and key stakeholders in my community. I also hold a LEAN organizational coaching certification and serve as an Empowerment Coach at a private practice clinic. As if that isn’t enough, I’m also currently pursuing my LPC certification to practice clinical counseling. My diverse experience equips me with a variety of tools and strategies to help you overcome any sort of challenge.
Yada yada yada, yes I’m qualified and can show you all of my degrees and certs…. but what you won’t know until you meet me is that I am very skilled at building meaningful, trusting relationships with others. If I could describe myself, I would use these words: Non-judgmental, compassionate, gentle, encouraging, and spicy (lol). I created this business because I believe in my soul I’m meant to encourage and help others. It truly would be an honor for me to work with you.
Simply put, I’ve also lived through many tough experiences—divorce, blended family dynamics, body dysmorphia, postpartum depression, and generalized anxiety. I left a marriage affected by infidelity and alcoholism and created a beautiful life for myself after walking out. I’ve been in the trenches and survived. Having gone through my own healing process, I know that it’s not easy. Over the past seven years, I’ve engaged in therapy and coaching, and I’m here to share my insights and support with you. I know what works to empower others, and what doesn’t work.
Here are some of the challenges I specialize in helping women work through:
- Setting family, relationship, and career goals—and staying accountable!
- Navigating difficult life transitions such as breakups, divorce, remarriage, career shifts, and parenthood
- Developing self-confidence
- Managing the complexities of blended families, including co-parenting & stepparenting
- Achieving work/life balance
- Managing stress
- Coping with generalized anxiety
- Addressing postpartum struggles for new mothers
- Setting boundaries, both personally and professionally
Who is your ideal client?
My ideal client is a motivated woman, aged 20–45, who is ready for change and invested in her personal growth. She is ready to commit to changing her life, and is open to feedback, encouragement and support along the way. She’s looking for the ultimate hype-woman in her life!
*Please note that I reserve the right to refuse services to any client. Our working relationship will begin only after you’ve signed the coaching agreement. Clients must be over 18 years of age or older.
What can I expect?
You’ll get out of coaching what you put into it. Neither therapists nor coaches can magically make your problems disappear. A coachable individual understands that their healing is their own responsibility. I don’t believe we ever fully “heal”; instead, healing is an ongoing process.
Through our coaching sessions, you’ll gain valuable self-awareness and insight from a non-biased, empathic individual who wants the best for you, with no ulterior motives.
